Founder / editor / photographer
By day Nat is a professional photographer, Christmas tree farmer and mum of twins. She is a champion at finding the best (hilarious/creepy/weird) GIFs in group chats. When she grows up she wants to be a semi-professional tomato grower. And her favourite thing about the Coal Valley is how distinctive the seasons are.

Wordsmith / ideas man / tech support
Other than moonlighting at OCV, Jared is a digital marketer, Christmas tree farmer and dad of twins. He excels at dad jokes (but is limited to one per offspring per day). When he grows up he wants to be in a 3-piece sea shanty band. And his favourite thing about the Coal Valley is the transformation it has undergone in the last 30 years, from a quiet rural area to a vibrant and creative community.

Recipe writer / olive grower / foodie
Fiona’s “proper job” is as a doctor, but her passion is olives and food. She grows and presses olives at her farm, Freshfield Grove. When she grows up she wants to be a crazy hippy lady with a farm full of goats. She is fabulous at organising and list making, much to her husband’s dismay. The thing she loves most about the Coal Valley is the sense of community and belonging.
